Valentine’s Day Treat | Cacao + PB Cups 

Single? In a relationship? It’s complicated?!

These treats don’t discriminate!

There is something to celebrate on Valentine’s Day, no matter what your relationship status is! This Valentine’s Day, ditch the box of chocolates full of unnecessary sugar and processed junk. Make your own chocolate treats! It could also be a fun activity to do with your significant other or with your girlfriends to celebrate your gal-entines. With wine, of course.

I have been having the most serious sweet tooth lately for dark chocolate, especially paired with peanut butter. So, for this Valentine’s Day inspired treat, I made Cacao + PB Cups! They are like Reese’s, but better and MUCH healthier. And if you know me well, you would know I am a sucker for that combo. These cups are super simple to make and ready in no time! Plus, they are low in sugar compared to the store bought chocolates!

+ full of magnesium for a healthy heart + brain

+ more calcium than cows milk

+ acts as a mood elevator and an anti-depressant

-INGREDIENTS-


6 tablespoons coconut oil

1/3 cup cacao powder

1 tsp maple syrup

PB (powdered peanut butter) or 1/3 cup of Crazy Richards Creamy Peanut Butter


-INSTRUCTIONS-


Using a mini cupcake tray, line with mini cupcake liners

Melt coconut oil in a small bowl for 20-30 seconds in the microwave

Stir in cacao powder and maple syrup until ingredients are mixed well

Using a teaspoon, pour chocolate mixture into mini-cupcake liners to cover the bottom

Once all liners are filled, place on a flat surface in the freezer for 5 to 10 minuets

Remove chocolate from freezer and add a small spoon to place peanut butter onto of the chocolate base, leaving room on the sides for the chocolate to fill

Once all are filled with peanut butter, use a small spoon to pour the liquid chocolate mix over the peanut butter, until it reaches the top of the liner

Add sprinkles, salt or a topping of your choice

Place the mini tray in the freezer for 15 to 20 minuets to harden

Once done, you can enjoy right away or store in Tupperware

These PB cups were so simple to make and in all honesty, they may need to be a staple in my freezer when I get my chocolate craving after dinner!

This Valentine’s Day, I have a huge exam and class all day so I won’t be able to do much with my girlfriends, but I will be able to snag one of these to reward myself for all the studying I have been doing to (hopefully) pass this exam! Wishing I could be spending V-Day with my boyfriend snuggling up and watching love movies, but our pup cap will have to do!
